We are looking for some discussion and/or resources regarding dialysis treatments and scheduling in dialysis. Thanks.
1. Do you have criteria in your hospital that determines if a patient needs emergent hemodialysis treatment versus their regular dialysis treatment? (If you are willing to share any policies/procedures, that would be great)
2. How do you schedule your hemodialysis patients? (For example, if it’s the patient’s regular dialysis day and they are admitted late in the day, do you go ahead and dialyze them or wait until the next day?)
3. How do you schedule your dialysis RNs, techs, etc.? (Looking for places that have inpatient dialysis units, dialysis at the bedside, peritoneal dialysis and apheresis.)
